Toyohiko Kagawa (賀川 豊彦 10 July 1888 – 23 April 1960) was a Japanese Christian reformer, and labour activist.  His vocation to help the poor led him to live among them and he established schools, hospitals, and churches.

The modern saints series includes people from all over the world who have left us wonderful examples of faith and witness.

Toyohiko Kagawa is painted in acrylic on a Loxley Gold box canvas and has two layers of varnish. It is signed on the reverse in pencil. All edges are painted and varnished.

This is one of a series of modern saints.
